_"And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias."(John 1:19-23)_
KNOW WHO YOU ARE NOT!
The record of John the Baptist according to our passage was without doubt, concerning who he is and who he is not. He had the opportunity to claim titles and hounor, he had the opportunity to make himself popular and to show men how powerful he is. This was the time for John to speak his mind to the priests and Levites. Their question was simple, _"...who art thou?"_
John the Baptist as his name goes never denied the truth though he had the opportunity to misbehave. He confessed, "I am not the Christ." This thing he did liberated him and made him a free man. The moment you introduce yourself to be who you are not, that begins the beginning of your death. He was released from unnecessary competitions, battles and untimely death.
Be true to yourself and help yourself from dieing early. Unnecessary competitions invites sicknesses and certain diseases into your body. Child of God be bold at what you can and what you can't. It's not a sin to declare who you are not.
|| PRAYER
Thank you Lord for your wisdom which is working in my spirit. I refuse to engage in unnecessary competitions, and I choose to pretend to be who I'm not in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen.
